There's a lot more to boilers than just the white box on your wall. We're asking all these questions about your system and your home in order to find your perfect boiler, but what does it all mean?

Boiler Types

The main question is what type of boiler do you have now and whether a like for like replacement or a conversion is best for you. Here we explain the main differences between each type of boiler and how they work.

The Flue

The flue is an important part of the boiler system and we'll need to know what type you have currently and whether this will need to change. Here we describe what a flue is for and the different types, shapes and positions they may be in.

Magnetic Filter

Good system maintenance is vital to maximise the life of your system and here at Evolve we always install a filter and a chemical flush with any new boiler. This page explains more about what these are and how they help.

Power

Like cookers and other appliances, boiler can be powered in multiple ways. We install boilers that are powered by Natural Gas or LPG and here we explain the differences between them to help you determine what power your system uses.

Radiators

A boiler would be pretty useless without radiators to transfer the heat around your home, but we will need to know how many you have to be able to offer the right size boiler to heat them. TRVs - Thermostatic Radiator Values

Radiators used to be either on or off, but these days they can have valves fitted to them to adjust the level of heat emitted individually. You may already have these, or you may benefit from having them fitted during your install. Find out more about them here.

Heating Controls (Time Clocks)

A crucial part of a heating system are the controls. These range from simple on/off switches to clever scheduling and internet controlled controls.
